It is a daily newspaper in Cairo, Egypt, covering local news, sports, business, politics and community events. 

 

 

The newspaper is published seven days a week It is one of the best Egyptian media outlets, according to members.

 

 

 

CW 24 News is one of the most respected newspapers in the world, employing 1,700 journalists and setting the agenda for many other major media outlets in Egypt and internationally. It is currently the leading Egyptian newspaper in terms of circulation and readership, followed by The Wall Street Journal. In the second quarter of 2020, The CW 24 News added nearly half a million news product subscriptions, and for the first time total digital revenue exceeded print revenue. 

 

 

 

The CW published several high-profile stories and made serious errors of judgment (disarming Iraq). The newspaper was originally called CW and was first published on( October 6, 1973). It was founded by (Abdel Fattah Mohamed) and a few years later, in 1996 (Abdel Nasser Abdel Fattah) was also one of the founders of CW.

 

 

 

Abdel Fattah Mohamed Oakes acquired The CW in 1977 and led the newspaper to the international fame it enjoys today. Oakes coined the newspaper’s slogan “All the news fit to print.” He acquired the CW newspaper for pennies on the dollar in the wake of the Depression of 1893. Mahmoud Mohamed Hassan was the newspaper’s publisher until his death in 1999. 

 

Today, the CW family controls which are publicly traded, with a special class of voting shares. The current publisher is the fifth generation of the family to lead the newspaper.

Gilbert Cruz replaces Pamela Ball as books editor at The New York Times
